Thank you everyone that posted a comment about Charlie. He’s back to his ol’ pissant self so there you go. He’s a stinker but I love him. Now if I could just get him to stop peeing on the kitchen floor…. (I know it’s because there are random cats that swarm my house when I’m gone at work and Charlie gets mad. I’ve tried the “go-away” spray – both for Charlie and the outside cats; tried spraying bleach; his litter box is cleaned daily… any words of advice would be helpful).
KNITTING NEWS (Yes, I still knit!)
I’m headed to Stitches West tomorrow night after work. I’ll be hitting The Market on Saturday. Can’t wait! Thankfully I have a house sitter to be with the animals. And it’s just one night.
I received a fabu pair of handknit socks in the Knitty sock swap yesterday! They are gorgeous. I love them! They fit perfectly and are warm and cozy. When I get my butt in gear this weekend, I’ll take pics and post.
Oh! I’m helping to start up a knitting group in my town. Very excited about that. I’m a pretty lonesome knitter so meeting up with local knitters will be very nice. I know my LYS has a group that meets up on Saturdays but I feel bad for not buying all my yarn there and would feel worse for knitting with yarn I purchased online (which comprises most of my stash). What do you do? Do you care about stuff like that? Does your LYS care?
Off to finish a project and watch my beloved CSI. I am so loving this season. Nick Stokes still rocks and I’m glad Grissom is back.
I would hope your LYS understands that you can’t get all your yarn from one source – at least they should! I think, as long as you buy yarn from them sometimes, it is fine to knit with stuff you purchased elsewhere. I do it and I’m sure many other people do to…
Sometimes it’s easier to keep the neighborhood cats away from the windows than to change the behavior of your own cat. The best “cat-repalant” that I’ve found is to sprinkle the outside windowsill and and kitty launching pads around it with cayenne- it’s irritating, but won’t hurt them.
I’ve also been using the felaway plugins and sprays. The spray seems to help but I’m not really sure if the plugins are really working working or not. I’ve also been know to spray the house/toys/everything down with catnip spray. My cats tend to get the munchies and then crash for a few hours after being nipped.
Best of luck!
Hope you have a wonderful time at Stitches West. Can’t wait to hear all about it!
