My dogs have awakened me between 5 and 5:15 all week. I suppose they’re getting me ready for teaching but really, I’d like to stock up on my sleep while I can.
Speaking of dogs…. remember what Sam looks like?
He’s the one in the back. With all the fur.
Well…..
Here’s what he looks like now:
Yup. He’s been shaved. It was my mom’s idea. I thought when she said “clipped” she meant “a trim” not “shave him bald.” Luckily, she didn’t do the actual shaving, I can thank the kind folks at our local pet store for that.
Doesn’t he look weird? He does. It’s ok. I will tell you a secret though…. Sam LOVES it! He’s not embarrassed in the slightest and is acting like a completely different dog. In our 100+ degree weather, all that hair was HOT! And now, he can frolick and jump and play without melting into a panting puddle. So even though he looks like a strange puppy-like dog to me, he’s much happier. And so am I.
awwww cute! I bet he is much more comfy now!
He must be so much more comfortable in this heat! Allie just got a cut, too, but I don’t think she’s smart enough to know that she’s more comfortable.
And Zorro? Well, Zorro just seems to shed his fur in the summer in order to be a little nudey dog. But he still wants to burrow under the blankets. 
We should totally get our muppets together at the dog park.
