For the first time, I entered a pair of socks into the local fair:
I used my March Socks that Rock! selection – Lucky Charms. The pattern is one that I made up for the fair. The picture above is of my socks drying the night before my grandmother took my socks over a few weeks ago to be entered and judged.
And here they are with a tiny blue ribbon:
Sorry for such a crappy picture… it’s with my old cell phone. Entering the fair was fun and it was good to see more knitted items this year. Part of my motivation to enter this year was due to not seeing very many knitted things at last year’s fair. Crochet still dominated in the “afghan” category but there were more socks, sweaters and handspun yarn. Great job to everyone that entered!
Speaking of my old phone… I finally traded in my LG Chocolate for a pink crackberry. My schedule has exploded with teaching, classes, professional development, activities, etc. Keeping track on paper doesn’t help me. My memory also seems to have faded since I started teaching. I need a little “ding! ding! you have an appointment!” to remind me since hiring a personal assistant is completely out of the question. And yes, it’s a crackberry… I’m already addicted and need a support group. Anyone have a good one?

Congrats on your blue ribbon, yay! Also, welcome to the world of Crackberry.
I have a Curve.
“Crackberry” – how funny. Cody’s been trying to convince me to get one. He loves his. The buttons are so small though. Let me know how you like it after having it a bit.
Congrats on your socks! Love the color.
Oooh oooh oooh…come join the Love Thy Blackberry group on Ravelry! I have a BB Curve 8330…love it!!!!!
